Masterclass with Sandy Silva

Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland

Part of The Art of Treepling Weekend culminating the First Footing
Residency.

This masterclass is for dancers working in traditional forms of foot
percussion who want to develop a deeper sense of movement flow and sonic
placement within the hands and feet. We will accompany ourselves singing
a vocal turlutte (melodic syllables) integrating the full body music
experience.

Dancers are expected to have some percussive dance experience.

Sandy Silva is an award-winning choreographer, producer and internationally-acclaimed pioneer of percussive dance. She draws from
global percussive dance practices infusing them with contemporary
movement, voice, theatre and impeccable musicality.

Workshop ticket gives a free entry to ‘The Art of Treepling Panel Discussion’ or screening of ‘Migration Dance Film Project’ and Q&A. Please call box office at 0131 556 9579 to book your free ticket. Participants who attend more than one workshop will be entitled to free entry to both panel discussion and film screening.
