Migration Dance Film Project

Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland

Part of The Art of Treepling Weekend culminating the First Footing
Residency.

Migration Dance Film Project is a series of interconnected short films
exploring themes of migration.

Award-winning team, filmmaker Marlene Millar and choreographer Sandy
Silva combine nuanced image, sound dynamics and the intricacy of
percussive dance to shape an emotional cinematographic storyline that
gives voice, image and movement to past and present transformative
journeys.

Followed by Q&A with choreographer Sandy Silva, director Marlene Millar, Nic Gareiss and Iliyana Nedkova.

Choreographer Sandy Silva is a pioneer and innovator of a very personal
and original form of percussive dance with 25 years’ experience
performing as a solo artist and teacher.

Marlene Millar, an established producer, director and editor of
performance-based films transposes choreography to the screen to create
a visual language that conveys the emotional depth of stories told
through dance.
