The Storytelling Centre Café is at the heart of our venue, welcoming tourists and locals alike, offering great service and delicious food throughout the day, along with tranquility from the busy Royal Mile. We’re very happy to announce that as of Mon 2 Jul the café is run by a new host!
Founded in 2000, Saltire Hospitality Ltd. is a local, family owned, Scottish catering and hospitality company.
“Our vision for this café is to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers to visit with their friends and families, sit back, socialise and enjoy a selection of great tasting food and drink.”
The company is a catering partner to several renowned café operations, including The Dome Edinburgh, Montpellier Group, The Arora Group, Social Bite, The University of Edinburgh and Dobbie’s Garden Centre.
Becky Peters, Sales Manager at Saltire says: ‘One of our key core values is to promote fresh, local Scottish produce within the context of the business. We recognised that the only way of assuring freshness and quality of bakery, desserts and associated products is to prepare these items internally.’
Saltire Hospitality is known to be the only Scottish caterer with its very own in-house bakery division, guaranteeing clients the supply of exceptional fresh, local and seasonal Scottish produce.
Over the years the Café gained fame for its incredibly delicious fruit and cheese scones, as well as its mouth-watering grilled veg and pastrami gherkin sandwiches. The new caterers have worked hard on putting together a menu which not only offers some old favourites, but also promises to include a range of new and exciting food and drink options.
‘We have worked closely with our chefs to develop the menu for the café, which will include everything from breakfast, to lunch time snacks, freshly filled paninis and artisan rolls, baked potatoes, salads, daily hot dishes to sweet treats from our very own bakery, and not forgetting our talented barista’s will be on hand to make the finest coffee on the Royal Mile. We will offer sit in or take away for all our customers.‘
