After a successful launch in 2019 the annual Edinburgh International Improv Festival is back in 2020 with an even bigger and better line up! Across 4 days over 75 performers from across the globe will amaze with their spontaneity, quick wit and ability to make you laugh your socks off. Scenes, sketches, songs and stories will be made up on the spot from audience suggestions.
Troupes entertaining you for this hour:
Surface Tension – Surface Tension are the most successful made-up band in the history of Scotland. Listen as Barry and Steven weave audience suggestions into ‘prov rock bangers that’ll have the audience chanting along with them.
Persimmon – A half dozen of humans, featuring people from all over the UK (and beyond, one of us is an AMERICAN), who have somehow congregated in the capital to perform fun and silly long form improv. Made up of seasoned performers across many many mediums, stand up, music, poetry, theatre, and of course improv, Persimmon are somehow greater than the sum of their parts. Somehow. I don’t know. Maths is hard. A young team full of promise, and youthful enthusiasm (for a bunch of people in their
mid-late 30s). Give us a look.
World class improv teachers will also be delivering a full curriculum of classes throughout the festival.
