Troupes entertaining you for this hour:

The Improverts

The Improverts are the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s longest running
improvisational comedy troupe, and this year they are celebrating their
thirtieth anniversary! Since their conception, they have performed every
Friday night at 10.30pm at Edinburgh University’s student-run theatre,
Bedlam. All of their players and production team are students at the
University of Edinburgh and yet they still rival and even outsell
professional companies. They perform every night at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival, regularly selling out a ninety person venue and receiving rave
reviews. In addition to their usual shows they have performed
successfully at The Brainchild Festival, The Stand Glasgow, and annually
at The Hen and Chickens Theatre in London, amongst many others. Their
esteemed alumni of successful comedians include Maria Bamford, Miles
Jupp and Mitch Benn, all of whom began their comedy careers as part of
The Improverts.

The Inheritance

A longform team based in Bristol that’s been going for a couple of years
now. Every 6 months they learn and conquer a new form, currently
performing a Macroscene-Harold with a bespoke (interview-derived)
opening and the Monoscene.

‘A group of seasoned improv veterans […] Evident in the acting is the
experience of the performers, their confidence and above all trust in
each other, creating a hugely effective piece of comedy’ (Epigram).

World class improv teachers will also be delivering a full curriculum of
classes throughout the festival.
